Besides the history behind its conservation status, the beauty of shophouses lies within their uniqueness. It is not a cookie-cutter but an art-piece appreciated by those who value character.

There are two main types of shophouse offices in the CBD:

1. The cluster: managed by a single landlord with centralised air-con, facility in an establishment

2. individual/standalone shophouse: each block is mostly owned and managed by different entities

The conservation shophouses have gained its reputation and attraction in the investment market in recent years. Other than being a collective item due to its scarcity, it preserves values as good as its heritage. I look forward to sharing more in the upcoming posts.
